Huh? I would have assumed they would be the same sex. I wonder if its a case of 1 being assigned the male gender role in as a matter of genetic survival?

Cool edro. Thanks for updating

Hello TGE, nice to make your accuantance. I too have seen this trait, actually a great deal over the last year. I call these single hull twins "true twins" and the fused seed twins as "Siamese twins."

The first strain I found this trait in was Seeds of Compassion’s Gorilla Biscuit(sensi star[turpentine pheno]x Stardawg IX).

I let both plants go full term and expected them to be the same sex. However, I got a beautiful female, and a very nice male. He was significantly smaller, and a bit leggy as he had to compete with his sister for light and food. At the request of the breeder, I let these two plants get their weird on. I The resulting seed has yet to be planted but I have high hopes for the offspring.

So what do we call that offspring? F2? S1? F2/S1? It is single seed descent, but its also a filial generation. I labeled them F2/S1.

Ive also personaly seen true twins in Medi-Pawz(Monkey paw x Mediberry f2), Ultimate Blue Cherry(ultimate cherry og x DJ’s BB) and Ultimate Cherry OG f2s(half of the seeds germ tested were true twins).
It sure is neat to see.

I agree there appear to be two types of twins. I think you see the double plant twin the most. I finally ran into the fused/siamese twin type this past year. When the plants grew larger, you could see the 2nd plant was truly growing out off the first plant. Like two plants coming off one taproot.

The self-topping plants are kinda cool too, I recently started a bagseed and it self-topped after the first node. The self-topping plants seem to grow out normal for the most part.

Just found out this morning that cannabis seeds can produce twins!

Well that's neat. Sounds like a super tricky divide though. I'm fascinated. I feel an extensive internet search in my future.

It wasn't too difficult to divide since the smaller 'twin' still had a pretty small tap root! I just did some really careful digging with my fiskars and wiggled it loose. Now they are in separate containers

Hopefully they both live 🙂

What if one is a male and one is female and they made a super strain!

This is like if that Blue Oyster shit met that Afghan Kush i had, and they had a baby. And then meanwhile, that crazy Northern Lights stuff i had and the Super Red Espresso Snowflake met and had a baby. And by some miracle, those two babies met and f***ed; this would be the shit they birthed.

Twins Cannabis Seeds

Twins cannabis seeds by Cannarado Genetics are a new release from this pioneering American seed company.

Twins is an Indica dominant hybrid suitable for indoor or outdoor gardens in legal environments. Cannarado Genetics report flowering times of between 56-70 days, and plants thrive with stocky stature, vigorous branching and prolific growth.

Twins is a cross of two strains that are both known for their powerful terpene profiles – Sour Dubble with its gassy, fuel flavours and Birthday Cake with her sweet vanilla and fruit. The result is a fusion of the two flavours that warns of the power within. Twins is a gift to legal growers and extraction artists, but know that this is a potent strain – both parent strains are heavy hitters and Twins picks up all the family traits.

We are certain that Twins is going to be very popular with collectors of unusual crosses and fans of Rocky Mountain cannabis in general.
