Best strain for low maintenance outdoor growing?
I have my normal grow stuff happening at my home property in Canada, but I also have access to a secondary property where I'd like to grow some autos outdoors.
The thing is, I only go out there maybe once a week tops, even less most weeks. Are there any strains that I could plant in the ground that would be more or less self sufficient?
Also, if it makes a difference, the property is very close to the ocean. Not sure if salt air would be a factor or not.
Thanks in advance.
Mephistos Ghost Toof would be great outside. The colas get huge but not super dense which will be better for out doors. She grows very open and tall, potent, and finishes quick
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll take a look for sure.

I was looking into this a little while ago. From what you've said I'm assuming you're in the lower mainland or van isle (presumably the same would hold true for the east coast). This isn't personal experince, just stuff I was looking into, white widow cropped up a lot (apparently it's frostyness helps it not lose too much moisture during drought and is mould/mildew resistant), as well as Royal Ak, Diesel, Royal Dwarf (all three autos from Royal Queen Seeds)
I saw an Island Sweet Skunk auto somewhere too (from what I gather thats more or less a canadian landrace strain, so it might be worth a shot)?
I'll be following this though for other peoples input too, as this this is all just random internet info I found.
Best outdoor strains for COLD climate ( + XL yield )
Hey guys, im growing in one hour up Montréal. Getting cold night in october, so i am looking for big badass outdoor strains.
For next year Frisian Dew/Duck are in my target, good choice you think ?
This year I grew Hollands Hope, so far so good. It's resistant to mold and mildew, plus has some big yields.
Hollands Hope® is a time honoured outdoor strain, one of the very first to be fully acclimatised and grown outdoors in Holland since the early 1980’s. Hollands Hope® is noted for its mold resistance, this is a hardy and reliable variety that is ready for harvest around the end of September or early October after around 8 weeks of flowering.
This is a quality indica bred to tolerate the Dutch outdoor climate but it will grow well in other outdoor climates. The plants are typically 1-2m tall, this is a heavy yielding Indica strain with a real knockout stone and has been a favourite outdoor strain of ours since the beginning.
Plants can yield anywhere from 100g to 1000g per plant depending on the growing conditions. Be careful not to give too much nutrition to Hollands Hope® as it can encourage too many leaves and actually reduce bud production. Buds typically reach 50cm in length and contain small leaves. Hollands Hope® has been a reliable and productive outdoor strain for many years, the smoke is quite sweet and the effect is a heavy, sit-down smoke that will be appreciated by recreational smokers and medical users alike.
