pure thai seeds cannabis

Pure Thai Seeds?

The goal here is to find the 100%, untampered, Thai strains with those special, soaring, seering, synesthesia, trippy, psychedelic genetics.

Hopefully this thread inspires commercial seed providers to hop on a plane and travel by donkey to make these wonderful genetics available again without watering the genetics down with short-cycle indicas and other continents since it seems there is an agenda to disappear the highest highs of sativa and couch-lock the globe.

To start I discovered Mama Thai with Seedsman is crossed with Skunk for example so I am not interested in that style Thai.

I will list names/breeder/links so in the event someone has knowledge of said strain then those are seeds worthy of ordering immediately.

What is it that makes Thai so special? THCV gives African strains that high energy but what is it in the Thai? High CBN and THCV? CBG?

I realize there are other seed websites so please if you know of other providers/strains I will add to this list but for the sake of debate right now I am scouring Seedsman.com to launch the search for something on order today. Again I am excluding all Thai with skunk crosses (Blue thai, purple haze x thai, etc) and if I listed one that does not fit the bill let me know.

As an aside Seedsman was offering a "Thai" strain, separate from their Mama Thai, available in 100 seed pack, that is now removed from the website in the last 48 hours or so. Why?

As of right now I have discovered no pure Thai strains though there are pure sativas crossed with Thai and will be listed here shortly.

I can’t comment on the final product yet, but I am sitting on a pack of Wild Thailand from World of Seeds; as far as I know, it is not "tampered with skunk". It cannot quite claim to be strictly a landrace since they reproduced it, but, according to them, it could perhaps be considered an "inbred line" raised on the same small island for centuries.

Since you linked it, you probably know as much about it as I do, so all I’m really saying is I was interested enough to give it a try. Not planted these yet for the simple reason I don’t have the luxury of allowing two meters tall plants.

Seedsman is perhaps giving away a lot of things due to their contest.

You are right these kind of sativas are less commercially viable; "takes too long", might be too fluffy or foxtailed, relatively low yield on some strains, etc. Many of them seem to under-perform indoors or simply require more power than a lot of rigs can provide. Probably works best if you can sow a whole field and no one will disturb it cause they have their own fields.

There is an article from the 70s on here somewhere, I forget by whom, saying, a lot of drugs can get you stoned. Marijuana is the only one that gets you high. And by that, he meant mostly sativas. I don’t mind some couch lock sometimes, but, that almost seems like the only thing you can buy, and I hope we can keep some of the "unique" effects of cannabis going, without it all becoming a kind of smokeable valium.

It’s all part of the conspiracy to eliminate sativa cannabis’ ability to inspire, create and generally get people off their ass and make something.

anything muddied with afghan/skunk is NWO garbage IMO (which is everything)

what? are you high?

okay that was a stupid question.. but this is so fucking stupid I can’t imagine how you came to that conclusion.

pure sativas take longer to flower and generally don’t yield as well, afghan/skunk is a proven genetic to shorten flowering time and increase yield. people are in it for the money, there is no conspiracy.

no just paying attention. it’s debatable as to whether top strains have really gotten any better since the 90’s.

GHS thai has skunk crossed in it somewhere.. I’m not sure which are "pure" and which aren’t. breeders certainly won’t tell.

I feel you, nowadays weed became a morphine/narcotic like drug instead of the trippy inspiring/creative drug it used to be. I guess the current social trends leaded to that, many people like to arrive home and switch off their brains after a long day getting stressed at work and so on, so the answer to that is stuff like Chemdog and all the new school heavy couchlocking hashplant hybrids.

Some people would smoke a nice NLD and they won’t even feel they are high until they realize they are cleaning up the house or brainstorming like crazy while they are trying to relax/sleep. for them the standard for Cannabis is OG Kush and Chem hybrids (which is 90% of the modern genepool by the way). Most of my friends say "Hey dude, this shit is weak, I’m barely getting any stoned and the smell is so subtle". Since then I always save the best buds for those who appreciate them, while I give them the trendy dank hybrid jars for their own pleasure.

On the other hand it’s good to see satties remaining as favourites among the elders with nostalgia from the 70s smokes and also the creative minds or youngsters with a more active lifestyle that demand cleaner daytime smokes that would inspire them, rather than getting them lazier and obnubilated.

As for the thais, I’d personally recommend you the Highland Thai from RSC, it’s probably one of the bests you could get nowadays. Their Mango Thai and Mekong used to be fantastic too. and their Manipuri just has the perfect mix from Thai and Indian ganja.

You could find interesting soothing effects in some other genepools as Hazes, Africans, Mexicans, Indians and so on. And I think it’s all about the particular terpene figerprint that tropical NLDs have, not about any fancy cannabinoids IMO, since there isn’t a huge variation among those most of the times.

Hope you’ll find what you looking for.

pure sativas take longer to flower and generally don’t yield as well, afghan/skunk is a proven genetic to shorten flowering time and increase yield. people are in it for the money, there is no conspiracy.

Conspiracy or simply business. The fact is all really pure sativas/NLD are facing their extinction. They are actually endangered even in their own countries. Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia. once known and renowned for the high quality sativas. Now are growing the same stinking crap you can get on the streets of any Western country grown by newbies in a cabinet.

A few decades ago weed was psychedelic, mindblowing, sometimes almost hallucinogenic. Now modern hybrids are couchlocking and make you sluggish.

Compare by yourself. Watch videos about hippies protesting against Vietnam war, they wanted to change the world, the counterculture of the 1960s.

Now watch arround you. Do you see any sluggish couchlocked toker doing something like that?

I bet there is a conspiracy! Try to find a really pure sativa! You will realize even if you are willing to pay a great amount of money you will be scamed because most "sativas" are only hybrids with thin leaflets, sometimes even with wide leaflets.

Most people call sativa to things like Super Silver Haze, Jack Herer. Which are only sativa leaning hybrids but with a heavy Afghan influence.

I see a lot of pics form people who sincerely believe they are growing pure sativas, but sadly they aren’t. It happened to myself many times too. Even some supossed landraces directly from their countries are contaminated and you can recognise the skunky smell in them.

For me the saddest thing is that the worst enemy is not the government or the police which chop the plants. They cannot chop all the plants from an entire country. Chopping plants can reduce the genepool but don’t shift the strain towards Afghan or Kush. The worst enemy for the good ganja sativa is within the people who grow them and decide to grow foreing or new overhyped seeds. The problem is so stupid you can see farmers growing hybrids outdoors in Toribio-Colombia using lights to increase the vegetative cycle to avoid dwarf plants with a ridiculous harvest. The worst enemy are the narcos who choose speed instead high quality and give modern hybrid seeds to farmers. Also they have some relationships with antidrug agencies like some entrepreneurs who spread low quality hybrids in traditional ganja growing countries. Also customers who are willing to pay for anything to smoke and they don’t reject they new and worse strains.

Until a few decades ago the stapple smoke was pure sativa heirlooms with a lot of seeds. Today those seeds would be as expensive or even more expensive than gold. Literally! Nowadays we have feminized seeds you cannot make more unless you deal with colloidal silver or sodium thiosulphate (you can use hemies too, you can find loads of them in those seeds ). We have new autoflowering strains you cannot keep alive in vegetative stage. Also we have the two thing combined together. So no seeds and no mothers or clones.

As if it is not enough we have people asking for low THC, high CBD plants which were called simply hemp not so long ago. And they are willing to pay for those seeds or for the oil from those buds which were considered waste stubble a few years ago.

I see conspiracy, conspiracy everywhere!

About really true sativas I think you can still get GN Luang Prabang from Laos. There was Thai Stick also from GN. And as Mustafunk said from TRSC.

Pure thai seeds cannabis

If you’ve never heard of Thai weed, then you either haven’t been smoking cannabis that long, or you don’t listen to a lot of hip-hop.

For example, Prodigy says he’s lit on “Thai weed” in Mobb Deep’s “Give It Up Fast.” Tupac in “Outlawz” raps that he’ll hit “high speeds and Thai weed on the freeway” while imagining a harrowing escape from his foes.

Ms. Roq and Knoc-Turn’al’s hook on Dr. Dre’s “Light Speed” describes a dank galactic journey with “hydro, doja, chocolate Thai weed.” And way back when Eminem was still Slim Shady, he rapped on 1999’s “Any Man” that he comes “high speed, IV full of Thai weed.”

Alongside Gelato, Thai stands as one of the most cited weed strains in hip-hop history. Besides the easy rhyme scheme “Thai weed” presents, this Asiatic landrace has maintained a legendary reputation among weed breeders and weed smokers. And for good reason, which we’ll detail below.

Yes, Thai Weed Comes From Thailand

Cannabis named after its place of origin, like Afghani or Thai, are usually landrace strains. Notice they don’t have colorful monikers like “Purple Punch” or “Alaskan Thunderfuck.” This is because, as far as we know, landraces are native to their respective regions.

Landrace strains are never, ever the product of a clever plant breeder.

When a plant like cannabis grows in a specific environment for thousands of years, each successive generation becomes better adapted to that environment. If no other weed strains cross-contaminate the landrace’s genetics, it begins evolving characteristics that distinguish it from other cultivars found around the world. And, with time, its sturdiest genes remain solidly in place, reliably passing on to any future crosses bred from the landrace.

When someone finds a landrace with unique heady effects, incredibly complex aromas, or intriguingly rich flavors, they’ve basically found a Holy Grail of Pure Weed Genetics. Nature designed this weed plant, not a human.

While pretty much all pot-shop weed these days are hybrids, the terms “indica” and “sativa” accurately describe landraces. In fact, every landrace is entirely a sativa or an indica; by definition, landraces cannot be hybrids.

On top of that, Thailand stands as one of the most weed-friendly nations on the planet. The government openly embraces medical cannabis, especially. Recently, the Thai Prime Minister hit a weed vape pen during a live press conference, and the government gives out free weed oil to its older citizens. Thailand is also the first Asian nation to develop its own strain, based on Thai landrace genetics: Issara 01.

Why Thai Weed Is Responsible for Today’s Cannabis Industry

The Thai landrace is a pure sativa. The strain made its way to the US sometime in the late ‘70s, and at least one weed breeder, DJ Short, gets to claim some credit for that. According to DJ Short’s son, JD Short, the equally legendary strain Blueberry was bred from “Thai, Chocolate Thai, Afghan, and Oaxacan.” And the genuine Blueberry spawned practically every strain with “Blue” in its name.

But there’s more. According to the weed cultivation site Alchimia, one prominent version of the Haze strain was also bred from Thai. Which means if you see a “Haze” strain crossed from an original Haze, it likely possesses Thai landrace genetics, too.

According to lab data at Leafly, Thai usually cranks out about 19 percent THC, which is average. There’s no terpene profile data, however, since the Thai landrace is an incredibly rare find these days — assuming the original is even still around. And while everyone reacts to weed differently, review aggregations suggest Thai is an “energizing” smoke. Self-reports often describe its heady effects as “euphoric,” “mellow,” and “clear-headed” — with none of the jitters or anxiety that can accompany sativa highs.

Thai weed also goes by “Thai Stick” because it’s the strain used when rolling actual Thai sticks, a type of blunt native to Thailand that wraps the Thai weed’s buds in Thai weed-leaves instead of tobacco leaves.

If you’re ever lucky enough to actually come across some real Thai, consider checking out MERRY JANE’s guide for making a Thai stick with it, too.
