Women’s History Wednesday: Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace was the word’s first computer programmer … in the 1840s. That’s right, we said 1840s.

Ada was only six years older than Clara Barton. While Clara was planting the seeds of international humanitarian law, Ada was laying the ground work for the computer age. One thing’s for sure: nineteenth century women knew how to get things started.
